Q&A

What is a bump map?
A bump map is a grayscale texture that adds fine surface detail to 3D models through lighting simulation, without adding geometry.
How do I use this tool?
Simply select an image with visible seams (like flooring or tiles). The tool automatically detects seams and generates a bump map.
Does this work with my terrible phone photos?
Surprisingly yes! As long as your seams are visible, we'll detect them. Even potato quality works.

About Bump Map Generation

01

Automatic Seam Detection

Detects seams automatically! Works on wood floors, tiles, stone - just tweak the sensitivity if needed.

02

Real-time Preview

Watch it work in real-time! Seams show up right on your image so you know exactly what you're getting.

03

Adjustable Parameters

Tweak it however you want! Adjust sensitivity, blur, intensity - play around until it looks perfect.

04

Browser-based Processing

Everything runs in your browser. Your images stay on your device. No uploads, no waiting, no limits!

Detection Technology

Uses OpenCV.js for smart seam detection. Basically computer vision magic that finds grout lines in your flooring photos. (Honestly, if AI could just detect seams for me automatically without parameter tweaking, I'd be so happy.)

Common Use Cases

Architectural Visualization

Turn catalog photos into bump maps for architectural renders. Works with 3ds Max, V-Ray, Corona - you name it.

Game Asset Creation

Make floor textures for games! Export to Unreal, Unity, wherever - adds depth without killing your poly count.

Product Rendering

Got flooring samples to show off? Generate bump maps and make those product renders pop in 3D.
